The April 15 Resolution (“National Signing Day”) by the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) is an agreement among the signatory graduate schools, including UNC Charlotte, to provide applicants until April 15 to consider offers of admission that also include financial support.

The International Student Scholar Office has released the Estimated Cost of Attendance for International Graduate Students for the 2022-2023 academic year. Total costs, not including mandatory tuition increments for specific programs and/or dependent(s) costs, is $45,000. Please use the total cost as a framework to understand the amount of money new international students must evidence on the Financial Certification Form (FCF) as a prerequisite to receiving an I-20/DS-2019.

The Belk College of Business soon will offer an online MBA in three high-tech concentrations to address the needs of an increasing number of professionals seeking an alternative path to an advanced degree.

The electronic Graduate Assistantship System (eGA) : ) was recently updated to improve security, enhance user experience and provide additional functionality. With eGA, faculty can hire and track a teaching or research graduate assistantship for any active doctoral, master’s or certificate student.
The Graduate School will offer the CIMER-based Mentor Training to graduate faculty on April 8. This event will be offered face-to-face and is limited to 20 participants. The training begins at 9:00 am and ends by 4:30. If you or your faculty are interested in attending, please complete the online registration form.

Winthrop University’s Center for Career Development and Internships will host its Spring 2022 Career and Graduate School Fair Mar. 4 from 1-4 pm in McBryde Hall.
The event will focus on full-time opportunities and internships, as well as graduate school programs.

The Urban Institute is seeking applications for the Gambrell Faculty Fellowship. The Fellowship Program funds short-term research projects (up to 18 months) examining issues related to economic mobility in the Charlotte region.
This year, the Gambrell Faculty Fellows program will fund up to six projects with grants up to $15,000 each.

The Graduate Slate team is glad to announce a new feature that will allow downloading a file of application data. This file will contain common and useful data points for applications to which you have been granted access. At the present time the file will contain all current 2022 applications.
The downloaded file will be in Excel format and will automatically have filtering controls enabled.
To access the download portal, simply log into the Slate Reader and it will be visible on the Home Tab under the ***NEW*** label.

Nominations for the Thomas L. Reynolds Leadership Award will be accepted through Jan. 31, extended from Jan. 28.
The Reynolds Leadership Award recognizes excellent leadership and outstanding service by a Graduate Program Director or Coordinator.
The recipient receives a cash award, an engraved plaque, and their name engraved on a perpetual trophy. Associate Professor of Architecture Peter Wong was selected to receive the Thomas L. Reynolds Leadership Award for 2020-2021 for his contributions to student success above and beyond his teaching role.

Professor of Philosophy and Graduate School Faculty Fellow Lisa Rasmussen will join members of Charlotte’s legal staff later this month in a virtual session on authorship.
The event, “Who’s Steering the Author Ship? Introducing the Authorship Policy & Resolution Procedures,” will address University Policy 318, “Authorship Policy and Resolution Procedures,” established in May 2021. The session will be held Jan. 26 at Noon.

The 2022 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) will be held virtually in April via Zoom and include a variety of events, including a Graduate Fair meet-up. Programs may connect with NCUR student prospects Apr. 6 and 7 for three hours each day.

The NC Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation STEM Pathways and Research Alliance (NC-LSAMP SPRA) Research Conference will be held April 1, 9-5, originally planned for Friday, Jan 28. The event includes a virtual recruitment fair from 10-11:30 a.m.
Charlotte Admissions staff will participate in the event.
The primary focus is on the recruitment of graduate students but this is also an excellent opportunity to recruit students for summer REUs.
There is no fee to register for the recruitment fair.
