Each student completing a thesis or dissertation must have a faculty committee. Committees should be submitted to the Graduate School prior to the proposal defense. The Graduate School will verify that each member is eligible to serve on the committee, based on the graduate faculty criteria. The purpose of the Graduate Faculty Representative (GFR) is to not only protect student rights and uphold University standards and policies, but also provide qualified graduate faculty members the opportunity to participate in doctoral education.
